Entries will only be accepted from exhibitors who can provide a National Sheep Health Statement (SHS) which
states that the flock is in the Sheep Market Assurance Program (Sheep MAP) and/or can provide proof that the
animals to be exhibited are approved vaccinates (as defined in the explanatory notes of the SHS).
At the time of entry exhibitors must provide a complete National SHS and/or an approved vaccination
declaration with the entry form.
Johne’s MN Status and Brucellosis number to be included on the entry form.
All stock transport must park their vehicles as directed.
ALL SHEEP TO BE PENNED BY 8.30 A.M.
All sheep to be bred and owned by the exhibitor.
Where breeds are sharing a judging ring, they will be judged in order of the book.
Merino and Poll Merino sheep showing two or more teeth must be tagged with the Association current tags.
Only tagged sheep eligible for Championships except breeders groups, ram & ewe lamb.
First Prize, 5 points; Second Prize, 3 points; Third Prize, 1 point.
The onus is on the exhibitor to enter sheep in the correct class

NOTE: Prize money will be paid out at the Secretary’s Office after completion of judging. Trophies will be presented in sheep pavilion once judging is completed. Stock must be from Brucellosis Accredited Free flocks.

JACKPOT CLASSES
These are special interbreed classes with significant prize pools attached. 1st place in the Jackpot Ram Class will receive $400 cash sponsored by Weatherby’s Scientific. 1st place in the Jackpot Ewe class will receive $450 of product from Zoetis. The combined Jackpot entry fees form part of the prize pool and will be split as follows: 1st - 60%, 2nd - 25%, 3rd - 15%.
Judging of These Classes
Three independent judges will judge the exhibits and allocate points. Points shall be allocated on basis of merit by the judges. The exhibit gaining the highest number of points shall be announced the winner. In the event that two or more exhibits gain an equal number of points, following awards and placings will be taken into consideration.
Winners of the respective Jackpot Classes will be announced at the conclusion of the British and Australasian Breed classes.
Placings in the Jackpot Classes DO NOT count towards aggregate points for Most Successful Exhibitor
Conditions of entry into the Jackpot Class
Entry fee is $10. Late entries will be accepted until 8:30am show day, but the entry fee will be $20. NO refunds on entry fees.
All entries must exhibit lambs teeth only
All exhibits must be bred and owned by the exhibitor. Animals to be drawn from general classes.
All conditions of entry of the Mount Pleasant Show Sheep Section where relevant are applicable to the entry of animals in the Jackpot competition. Exhibitors are responsible for getting their animals to the ring on time. Management and control of the Jackpot Sheep Competition will be the responsibility of the Sheep convenors and their decision is final. Any exception to the entry rules must be approved by the convenors. The convenors reserve the right to make any changes or exceptions necessary for the betterment of the Jackpot show.
