Genoa Cake Championship

This competition is a state-wide event organised by the Agricultural Societies Council of SA Inc and proudly sponsored by Sunbeam Foods and Angoves.

The Genoa Cake Competition Semi-Finals will be held at a nominated Show in each Association. The winner of each Association Semi-Final is eligible to compete at the State Final staged during the Royal Adelaide Show.

PHONE ENTRIES ACCEPTED, LATE ENTRIES WILL NOT BE ACCEPTED AND WILL BE RETURNED.

Rules

Exhibitors own recipe to be used.

There is to be no restriction on the ingredients used.

As a general guideline the Genoa Cake should contain sultanas, currants, cherries and almonds.

Cake to remain un-iced.

Cake may be decorated with almonds.

Prize money

The semi-final winner will be eligible to compete in the State Final where a bottle of St Agnes Sherry, sponsored by ANGOVES, will be presented to each State Finalist.

Semi-Finals:

1st prize - $50

2nd prize - $20

3rd prize - $10

State Final (Adelaide Royal Show):

1st prize - $250

2nd prize - $75

3rd prize - $40
